5 possible winners for the 2017 Royal Rumble

By Natacha Gray

This Sunday the 30th annual Royal Rumble is set to take place in San Antonia Texas and it’s already looking to be a spectacular event as WWE begins its journey onto Wrestlemania 33, which will take place at the Camping World stadium in Orlando Florida. WWE is definitely kicking off the year with a star-studded line-up featuring some of WWE’s most iconic performers such as Brock Lesnar, Goldberg and the Phenom the Undertaker the Royal Rumble match is appearing to be more unpredictable than it has in recent years, so who could potentially win the Royal Rumble match to go on to mainevent Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando Florida. This article’s going to look at five potential winners;

Bill Goldberg –

Since Goldberg returned in 2016, nobody could have expected him to beat the Beast incarnate Brock Lesnar in one minute and twenty-six seconds during their match at Survivor Series and while the WWE Universe presumed that Survivor Series match would be his last in the WWWE yet, the following RAW, Goldberg made his declaration that he wanted to have one more title run. Could Goldberg possibly give a Jackhammer and a Spear to twenty-nine other WWE Superstars before he sets his sights on either current WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens or the challenger Roman Reigns? Goldberg has been looking destructive and a dominant force whenever he’s been given the opportunity, however, this will only be his second match since he’s returned. Can Goldberg win the Royal Rumble to go on to win his first Universal Championship? We’re just going to have to wait and see.

The Undertaker

It’s Wrestlemania time again and there’s no doubt that the Undertaker is looking for his Wrestlemania opponent. Just before Survivor Series last year the Undertaker returned to Smackdown to announce that he was no longer appearing once at year at Wrestlemania and then a few weeks later informed the world that he would be entering the Royal Rumble match. Now there are rumours that the Undertaker has got to undergo hip replacement surgery after he appeared on this week’s Raw it appears that he will still be entering the Royal Rumble, so can the Phenom that is the Undertaker could win the Royal Rumble? While it may seem unlikely to some anything is possible especially when it comes to Deadman himself and if he were to win the Royal Rumble, would he go after the Universal Championship or perhaps he’s got somebody else on his radar.

Braun Strowman –

Braun Strowman 2.png

The Beast among men Braun Strowman as a definite chance of winning the 2017 Royal Rumble match, as one of my personal favourites to win, Braun has been looking destructive and a truly terrifying force storming his way through the WWE. Week after week, Braun Strowman has definitely been telling everyone around him that he’s not to be messed with and that nothing will stand in his way to get what he wants. Braun Strowman has been throwing the likes of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins even the New Day around like their ragdolls. So can the Beast among men, overpower the Heavyweights such as the Big Show, Brock Lesnar and Goldberg, his strength and power is certainly going to be tested this Sunday, but he’s definitely got a fighting chance to win the Royal Rumble.

Finn Balor

Finn Balor has been out on injury for a shoulder injury yet as reports keep coming out that Finn Balor might finally be cleared to compete the WWE fans are anxiously anticipating when the Demon King is going to return. Could it be this Sunday? As we anxiously anticipate his return, is it wrong to speculate that if Finn Balor does indeed return this Sunday could he go on to win the entire thing and target either Kevin Owens or Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship that he had to relinquish last year? Just imagine the crowd’s reaction if Finn’s music hit, it would definitely be a great moment in the Royal Rumble to see Finn Balor make his return?

Shock Entrant –

shock-entrant

What would the Royal Rumble be without a few shock Entrants? The Royal Rumble’s entrant list is never fully revealed because what would the fun in that be? Could you imagine someone who hasn’t been revealed to go on and win the entire thing, after weeks and weeks of speculation and suddenly the winner is someone nobody could have predicted because there was no hint or speculation that they were even entering the Rumble? Could it be an NXT call up? Could it be a returning Superstar? Or someone completely unexpected, I don’t know about you guys but I’m super excited for Sunday.

Question – Who do you guys think will win this year’s, Royal Rumble? Who do you want to win this year’s Royal Rumble? Let us know because we love hearing from you guys
