Star Wars Battlefront is an action shooter video game developed by EA DICE, with additional work from Criterion Games, and published by Electronic Arts. The game, based on the Star Wars franchise, is the third major release in the Star Wars: Battlefront sub-series, and is considered a reboot to the previous games, instead of a sequel. The game was released worldwide in November 2015, and received mixed reviews from critics. Critics praised the game for its gameplay, visuals and high production values, but was criticized for its lack of content on both single player and multiplayer modes. Despite this, it was a commercial success, selling over 13 million copies
Star Wars Battlefront is the current gen dream game in terms of a multiplayer game for any Star Wars fan, Or even if you just enjoy the Star Wars films when they come out. I recently did a lets play on my twitch channel due to be uploaded soon where I spoke about how this game simply just missed a very big opportunity to be better. Its not a bad game by any stretch from the sound design, gorgeous graphics, locations and playable characters. But past that and yes the things i have mentioned are all things that game a great video game, but where this game really lacks is content, i can see a hardcore Star Wars fan being very excited to boot this game up and hearing the memorable and iconic Star Wars theme tune. Awesome stuff, but i feel once they play the 1st hour of this game they will begin to feel the lack of content and repetitive gameplay that would follow. Then they would slowly notice the lack of content and here is where things start to go wrong
The Season Pass
The Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass. This game has a lack of content to begin with and i can assure you i am not the only one who feels this way, the season pass currently costs £40.00 at least from the Xbox One store. which technically is a lot of money, although this does come with 4 expansion packs one of which being the upcoming Death Star DLC, which will finally allow space battles there still is not enough content on the game alone.
Characters
With Star Wars Battlefront’s Characters I feel there is a big missed opportunity with Star Wars Battlefront, Another problem involving content with this game is the lack of heroes and villains including 3 big characters from the force awakens that are Finn, Rey and Kylo Ren. I did however hear Chewbacca is coming soon as far as i know however this is not confirmed. But where is Yoda ? Where is Obi Wan Kenobi ? Would it not be a cool mechanic be to have Yoda be able to flip over characters ? I also noticed yesterday that while playing a few new characters were added with only 1 character being available to me without having the season pass. So to me this feels like a big missed opportunity with the lack of content being the main issue here, including the fact that by the time Autumn/Fall 2017 comes around we will have a Star Wars Battlefield 2 possibly with another season pass.
